Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Layoffs happened the last week of August 2018

Once again another layoff. Unlike March 2018 which was about 10% of the consulting/PS team (60 0ut of 600) , this one seems smaller and more stealth like. You find out when someone's email bounces or word of mouth. In the last 2 years this is # 6 or 7, but we loose count.

The beatings continue while morale and sales drop. The additional layers of management that Lund added must be paid for.

Could Teradata be in line for this?

Other than California no vacation accrual starting in 2018. You can take as much as you want whether you have been there 1 day or 10 years. I assume big brother monitors vacation use for performance reviews - but they no longer do performance reviews! Both make it more convenient for the next layoff

Could be the 1% was calculated based on the entire Tdat employee base, not PS org only.

How is the severance package ? Do they still give reimbursement for the unused vacation days ?

The layoffs continued last week. The affected employees were told to leave immediately.

VP of Product is heading out on his own (is the word but who knows); agree that the company is making some bonehead moves.

VP of Product was included in this last round...a rather key position. As a former TD team member who left on my own, I’m just glad I’m not there to see this once great company and product line implode. The writing was on the wall 4 years ago.

This severance package shows 21 out of 460. In March 2018 there were 655 in the same pool.

With that kind of attrition why bother with layoffs. Just watch it implode.
