Just checked the internal career portal. Not only the quantity of open positions dropped as all Islandia positions vanished.
Majority of positions are for Massachusetts, Colorado, Illinois, Virginia, California, Texas and a few to Atlanta.
I believe that the hoax of Broadcom paying the early closing fee and shut down that location make sense now.

Back in 2010, five of us took severance package. Eight years later, all the five of us are doing great job/career wise.
Sharpen your skills like there is no tomorrow. It wasn't easy finding a job in 2010 but somehow things worked out. Good luck!
Islandia is closing soon. The headcount is going to drop dramatically and then they can write off the space and move people to a lower cost location like New Jersey. People internally are asking how long the gym will be open should focus on more important things. The gym is the least of your worries. Good luck people.
It does makes sense, no matter what naysayers think.
The majority of people in Islandia are back office support people. GIS, HR, Legal, Finance, etc. Most of these roles will be redundant when the company is acquired.
For people wishing to be kept, likely a small percentage, it is much better to lease a smaller office space (or if the rumor is true, buy another software company and co-locate the teams). I believe the rent for Islandia is over $1 million a month.
also anyone with eyeballs and a brain please see where the engineering positions are - ITC, Prague, maybe Burlington? Islandia is finito
