So the townhall, really didnt bring anything new. First they say May....then end of year....now Sept.....and now maybe till November session. Just in time for cogswell to use there 90 day rule. Smart, keep telling us one thing and pushing the date.
@2yyx—everything is great. Unicorns and rainbows. .
For those of us no longer in the gulag--how did the Town Hall go? Any news??
how exactly devry works still not shutdown? that joe guy seems high on laughing gas everytime he is on a conference call...
JB and the rest of the nimrods having a town hall today at 3. Maybe we find out more at that time.
this points to some last minute renegotiations of some sort with cog-swell

i dont think we made the deal with cogswell. we are just a stand alone school now, don't know why....this is such a secret. i mean, our benefits all state Devry.
Cogswell truly brings nothing. Wondering if they are just looking for real estate. Naperville and campuses specifically. Thoughts anyone!??
Yes, on the academic side, they are operating as if the company is an ongoing concern. They are redeveloping courses, and creating new courses, and introduction new programs. But all we're hearing about is the separation from Adtalem. No mention of merger/acquisition by Cogswell. Cogswell brings nothing to the table in the transaction, so it never really made any sense. Why not just spin off DeVry as a separate company and leave it at that? Best option would have been to sell it to the employees.
just curious...what kind of FT faculty are they looking for? And what's this about course development?
I thought the takeover was yesterday...
Palm Ventures is eerily silent before taking over. Does anyone else finds this concerning???
There is a lot of speculation, but not many facts or firsthand accounts. There has been fanfare about technical independence from Adtalem but no mention recently about the transfer. Cogswell continues to remain silent on the matter.
Interestingly, there is a big push for course development, even for courses that were recently updated. There are also full time faculty positions open. Neither of those facts makes sense to me in light of our dwindling student population. We saw a spike in new student enrollment this session, but many of the new students did not stay to the end of the session so who knows if that really grew our population or not.
In short, nothing major has changed that I know of.
I left DeVry several months ago. Best decision I ever made, but I still check out this site because I have friends who still work there. Have things really gotten bad? How close are they to closing down completely?
will he go on a tour of all the campuses ?
The place is about to go under....Mr. Palmer of Palm Ventures will soon take over.
