just move to to India office and become a director, cost of living is low in India and that too in hyderabad, IKEA is here, amazon is here, compete with Indians in India and who them your mettle...
elk, if you come after 10am, you can only park your car at upper level of the parking garage. Many bumpers are waiting for you: what a bumpy start of a day!
OP is correct. The only thing managers do in San Diego is schedule conference calls with the people who actually do the work in India. San Diego engineering is worthless. Most of them don’t even come to work until after 10am.
Time to move al engineering to India an be done with it. Keep SM and GD as figure heads in San Diego so Qualcomm can still claim to be an American company.

Sales + Marketing + R&D -- everything in SD. What is actually moving to India ? I don't think anything major.

OP: Q now is pretty much lean. Sales + Marketing + R&D represents almost everything of the company. What else can be cut? I don't see this as a bad new.
Thanks for the heads up. I would not mind the lower cost of living in Hyderabad. Will they cover moving expenses?
