Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Major layoffs at Thomson Reuters?

15% cuts coming in TR. Mckinsey review will decide locations to close and teams to cut.

Is there any more info on this? Is this credible information or just rumor gone wild? Fifteen percent seems too high to be true, but I'm not willing to count anything out just yet.

If it's true, I'm hoping somebody will know more about it and share here.

Consensus estimate of job cuts in my region is in the order of 25% which was also the approx cuts in 2016.

Expect layoffs in Mid Oct - end of Nov, typically all on the same day, usually at the start of day on a Friday or before any (long) weekend (to make the survivors forget / cool down) and close to the completion of a Salary cycle.

Watch out for a harmless looking mail from Jimmy or your local MD hours (or minutes) before the HR terminators unapologetically go about their business of firing people. Long timers particularly at risk I'd imagine. Ain't gonna be pretty folks - brace for impact, or jump is you've got a parachute ready.
