Thread regarding GE Digital layoffs

DT people back to the business

6 August DT business aligned people back to business.

Bravo on execution of centralized DT.

Where do the leftovers in DT go? Maybe in BR’s belly. To be regurgitated by the company soon for the unemployment line.

Likely have to lump the Cyber techs into the CoreTech mistake in order to sweeten the deal for anyone to buy it.

Cyber is being thrown in with Coretech rejects so they can stealth lay them off also once the so called “deal” is struck. I am sure the senior leaders are being paid handsomely to prostitute the position they are “so excited” about the opportunity. People’s livelihood and careers at risk here while you f around.

This is the result of the centralization failure that is Jim Fowler. He told you one day that you are all going back to the business and then the next day he leaves GE and you high and dry. It's obvious what happens next. The business will evaluate whether they really need all of these bodies. Of course, they don't. Layoffs will happen during the next 3-12 months.

I’m hearing most of CT products will be dumped as business taking on roles. With most IT happening at business, what happens with those remaining in CT? Does anyone know if more are slated to move back to business or should we be looking for other options?

You’ll never get an org chart out of CD. Maybe too busy with other things. “Gluttony is not a secret vice.” Orson Welles

To be honest, it's not like GE Digital knew what to do with all of the people they pilfered from the business units in the first place to form the centralized IT. They kept promising a org chart--which never materialized.

So, I see the pilfered people (who are still around) going back to their business units, and the rest of GE Digital getting hugs from BR and then being auctioned off to the lowest bidder--in the same process where GE finds the support contractors.
