Around 1,000 people are being shown the door, that is much more than I expected. Luckily (and I know this is a matter of perspective,) it's global, so we might not see the worst of it. At least that's what I'm hoping.
Anybody knows when we'll have more info on what's being hit and where?
I was let go from Symantec . Since then, no anxiety attacks, depression, I sleep better and I am interviewing with top companies including Google. Best thing that ever happened to me. I didn’t rip the band aid off , God did. Happier for it
It would make sense for them to the bulk of these before October 1st so that they don’t need to pay out on AIP.
Expect huge hits in Enterprise. Sales are way under performing and hopefully Consumer can be sparred some of this cleaving. With the sheer amount of people they're looking to layoff, I'd expect a hit on all three core groups, though. I doubt Star makes it out unscathed. It's really sad what has become of Symantec. As a long-long-long-timer, I know my days are numbered. Going to feel like losing family when this is all said and done, but I've already seen so many go. Time to get that resume updated.
They usually keep it quiet overall. You'll only know when either you or people in your group are impacted. They try not to impact the already cratered morale.
