Recently heard a conspiracy theory that makes a lot of sense:
The Spectra merger wasn't about assets, or dollars, or synergies. It was about bringing in a ****ton of Spectra employees to push out the people in Houston.
Legacy Enbridge Houston employees did tend to whine a lot. I think it was pretty justified, that place is an awful place to work, but Legacy Spectra seem to be more willing to put up with crappy jobs and crappy bosses in a crappy building in a crappy location for slightly better money - maybe a ploy to get the same work done with fewer people, because everyone spends less time whining? Cheaper than actually fixing the company?
Discuss.
