I'm worried that the rumored August 1 massive layoffs will come true. Might be a fool for believing rumors, but I can't help it.
Spent the weekend stressing out and figuring out what to do if my name is on the list (which in hindsight was not a bad thing in itself.)
It didn't help to reduce my anxiety, though.
I can confirm that something is happening on 1 August because my manager has recently told me in confidence that our (small) group would be spared. However, we've got a few open headcounts and perhaps they just removed them what wouldn't be ideal but still better than making real people redundant. I can't say anything about the magnitude of the coming event, though. Could be anything from a small workforce adjustment to a tsunami, like some chaps have already speculated here in other threads (like shutting down Westford). I guess all we can do is just sit and wait.
The company has been in a death spiral since the leadership team that built the company moved on. They were replaced by an executive leadership team that had one thing in mind, stay with the company long enough to collect their stock options and then jump ship. It’s amazing that some of them were allowed to return, that shows you what loyalty means to the company. Right now it looks like the Titanic, and things aren’t going to get any better. This is “The Juniper Way” otherwise known as “ The Wrong Way”!
