Half my group in Westford including me was let go today. People were told this morning. Some were crying as they were escorted to the door. People here 10 and 15 years. And forget about 30 days to find something internal - company kicks us all to the curb effective Wednesday. How humiliating. Makes me angry. Juniper can go to hell.

FAKE NEWS, WF never been stronger
I doubt WF (New England Center) will be shut down. The company just invested a large chunk of change remodeling the building.
Clean up your resumes and float it, being proactive is not a bad thing, the economy is strong, companies are hiring and it's better to be ready for if/when it does happen. Never hurts to interview at a few companies to get familiar with the process, just because you look and possibly interview does not mean that you have to leave.
Sorry to hear that.
@Upt7AQo-1fte you are a good soul :)
Sorry to hear about this! I've been thru such things SEVERAL times myself (wrong place/wrong time rather than it being about you). The key goal is to NEVER, EVERRR give up! Keep looking and apply to cities with GROWTH. You have to THINK FLEXIBLE! If you're in a "dead" town" then think about maybe moving. If won't /can't, I know folks who even plane commute to another state for some days on their dime (and sleep at a buddy's house/AirBnB it, etc--a decent $100k+ salary softens the blow immensely obviously and I assume most of you are at this level) and then work the rest of the time from home. Do WHATEVER it takes to float! I've seen laid off folks get an even BETTER job with more pay/title/much healthier company (it doesn't have to be worse). The job economy is doing fine (finally) so that should really help! Use LinkedIn and carpet bomb recruiters at companies you want to work for telling them about a job you found on their job site (even a 1 in 50 hit can help). Create a NICE resume (don't exaggerate!--they DO! deeply investigate). Reach out to ex-colleagues that you're looking. Use Udemy.com and Youtube to give you some extra skills for resume writing/interviewing/tech skills. Ramp up on an extra skill (anything re: Cloud is BOOMING!!). Get certified online. Remember to KEEP your SELF ESTEEM up. Juniper has always hired the BEST so you obviously must look really good on paper! Companies WILL hire you no matter your age! I've seen a fair amount of Juniper folks even transfer to Google (which, by far, is the most difficult interview to pass technically--by far!!), etc. My suggestion now, is it say "F It!"...if you can, take a week to decompress--work out, go on a mini vacation as long as your savings are ok. These days 6-8+ mo. savings is good to have in a late career. DO NOT take 3-6 mo. exotic vacations. I saw one girl do this when laid off and when she was back, the 6 mo. hiring boom in NYC at that time was over. She had to settle into a job far less than what her Cornell MBA pedigree would have given her. If it's taking a little longer than what you expected, latch on to some Start-up to fill up the "dead space" between jobs--this looks really good on a resume that you kept at it--I haven't seen one guy who had the "Start-up filler" not convert this into an equivalent or better job than the one you left--and you don't even have to say you got fired. You can just say you wanted new challenges which was the reason for leaving JNPR and that the Start-Up didn't work so you're looking again! No biggie! Works great! This is fact!.........And please take this perspective, people in other parts of the present day world have been thrown into refugee status, suffered famine, had their families r*ped/horribly tortured/killed before their eyes--horrible nightmarish stuff!! On the news the other day, a father had to watch his kids and their grandmother die trapped in a fire videostreaming LIVE as he was stuck in traffic trying to get to them--this father won't be able to live peacefully for the rest of his life with that experience! .....So be grateful to God, PRAY and try to balance this First World problem in a great job economy to the rest of the poor souls who have it so much worse! "Chin Up" as the WW2 Brits used to say and soldier on to your NEXT BETTER success! BELIEVE in yourself! This is a "board game gig" at the end of the day! God Bless!
BS... site is not closing down.
