Anyone know if HR or company will accept a voluntary layoff? Having been here 20+ years was hoping for layoff with severance instead of quitting.

You are joking right? No one is going to pay you to quit your job. I want to get laid off too. I will get 28 weeks pay plus 6 months insurance premiums. It will be a huge payout and if I find a job right away I can bank the money,
Unfortunately my supervisor said there were no planned layoffs in my area to put me on, otherwise there is not a voluntary layoff plan at the moment. No huge surprise but I figured it was worth asking.
Lets say you ask your manager to consider you in the next layoff over email. You then print off the email for safe recorder keeping. A month down the road theres a layoff and your not included. Withing a short time frame your fired for whatever reason. You will have a lawyer jumping for your case.
Some managers who know they are going to lose resources via another layoff would rather lay you off to Preserve another employee since they may not be allowed to fill the req, that’s why it’s worth asking.
If if ask to be laid off, I can guarantee you will get nothing.
How stupid can people be?
I'll be asking about a voluntary layoff this week from my immediate supervisor, will post the results here.
Well said, keep the few trolls on here in line.
The comments about DST employees not working is disappointing. Sure, morale is low and people are not motivated at this point. But for years my department and co-workers have put in many hours per week. Just because someone is not sitting at their desk when "you" think they should be does not mean they are not working. Many employees work hours before 8am and later than 5pm. They are on conference calls with clients in the early morning and night, traveling, resolving issues, working on implementations in hotel rooms late into the night, technical engineers, consultants, account execs are resolving issues after hours. I have personally been on conference calls until 2:30am trying to get a situation resolved as have many others. And most of the extra hours go unnoticed with no comp time or other benefits to show appreciation So to say that DST employees don't work is a flat out lie. Maybe those making the claim spend too much time monitoring their co-workers seats and should get to work themselves.
Thanks for the information, it is deeply appreciated.
there was someone who wanted to be laid off, she told her boss - several times. on layoff day she did not get laid off, however the next week, after she was reprimanded for leaking a rumor to another co-worker, she was told she was free to give her resignation, which she did. she's gone now. no severance.
moral of the story? keep your mouth shut. they are not paying you to quit.
Has anyone actually asked HR/Senior MGMT about voluntary layoffs?
1oqq - This is Not the first layoff where high performers have been shown the door. That has been the case for years. But if the company doesn’t have a business need fir your skills, no matter how great you are, there is no reason to keep you.
I think this last layoff really was the pillar that broke the camels back.
High performers and people who've spent their entire career dedicated to the companies success were sent packing, a very clear message was sent, "all we care about is numbers".
For those wondering why DST people don't work very much now..... at this point why the f--- would they?
Wow, we've got some ssnc apologists on here now! Interesting development. Is HR addressing the fact "dst layoff" this site is the #1 result? Maybe they've hired some fake news, opinion makers ie trolls to spam here?
Very odd indeed.
Youd complain to if you had sh!tty leadership for the last several years, layoffs year after year, little support if any for personal improvement. Has been a joke.
Its simple dst employees are behind the times and need to go
Yeah I think some want it both ways which doesn’t make sense. Why would a employee want to be paid to leave. The collect unemployment if they need the job to survive. bill may have a point about the bloated depts.
Every dst employee ive had to work with does nothing but complain
Eh we're just "hangars" now right? fk them. May Bill Stone ruin his own company for getting in over his head. In his eyes we are all just "empty seats".
Yeah, I'm sure all those disgruntled employees that did not get laid off are now working super hard to make the shareholders happy, lol.
It seems dst has a sh_t ton of employees that really don't do that much. Many departments have "work from home day", then the 6 week vacation package and leaving early on various days when 'its slow"...
They could probably lay 90% off and still get the work done.
Who hired all those people?
Yes bill has made thousands of hangers. I can't get a da#n thing done without somebody road blocking me. I dont get it, it's like everyone is mad about something. Wonder if thousands of pi#!ed off employees working 2 out of 8 hours a day is in the stock holders best interest
Does this company really think anyone is doing their job 100%, or cares about doing the job the right way anymore? I mean everyone is looking for another job. Most people realize they do not have any job security. You can't hang layoffs over people's heads for months and months, in this case almost yearly now, and think you are going to have loyal, diligent employees. What a mind f_ck.
Interesting.
just start calling out sick a lot.
Hi. I was wondering if you would pay me to voluntarily resign. Go for it.
Thanks for asking despite these trolls, i’m interested as well
HR does not run ssnc so ask your nearest sales agent or bill
Voluntary is assumed without severance.
Sure. Without a doubt, you are special and deserve special treatment.
