Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Raja and JK will not save Intel

Any positive impact from their work will not be seen until 2021 at the earliest. By then, TSMC and the foundries will have pulled one generation ahead in process technology to the point where TMG is not able to catch up at all. So, the only choice is for Intel design teams to finally drop the obsolete IDM model and move to foundries. Problem is, Intel will then be competing on a level playing field and it has NEVER beaten AMD without a process advantage. I'm sure Raja and JK can come up with good architectures, but AMD and Nvidia are not standing still, and they have a 3-4 years head start.

OP is apparently born after 2007, because AMD back then produced the overhyped disappointment codenamed BARCELONA, then followed that up with the disastrous "fake core" architecture codenamed BULLDOZER

..........and through that entire time AMD was behind on process tech

So based on OP's warped logic, AMD should have shriveled up and folded in 2012.

They cannot really get anything useful done. Intel's work culture will take care of that. There has been a lot of great people hired to people with big money but they either get frustrated and quit or have to start playing the Intel game.

They should have known better about the kind of mess Intel is in and the disarray under the Big Klown. It's pretty obvious they came for the money. Money brought them in, and it can also get them out.

When they change/jump ships not sure how they will be able to save intel.

They were better off leading in their previous roles...

They came here for money, disrupting career's of others and not to save...
