Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

Remaining schools

Will they just become learning centers for the online classes?

Will this happen starting January 2019?

This a clever manuever which is highly unethical for a church group. You don’t do normal due diligence by hiring forenzic accountants to scrutinize each universities financials & enrollments etc. Know there are constrained finances but you know with some lobbying you can get the govt. to bail you out so the pity money keeps coming in. It’s big business as usual. Non profits are about structuring, they make profits but minus the tax cloud overhead. I wish Americans would get a grasp on that point.

With a 7% persistance/ grad rate Online one can assume Title IV funding will be scrutinized then withdrawn.

It would make sense EDMC mislead them, they mislead everyone.

They don't have enough for private funding. Part of the entire WASC issue is that Richardson had to borrow money from his family to even finance the deal. If you read Halperin's piece about the leaked call, DCEH is hemorrhaging money. They did shoddy due diligence and now they're blaming EDMC for misleading them.

You can offer a full curriculum without being accredited. If you’re a non profit you can use religion as the basis and use a religious accreditation most mainline denominations have their own.

The issue is funding. If DCEH has a private source for student loans that will keep moving forward business as usual.

I know none of them are viable, but not ALL schools closed, so I'm asking what will happen to the ones still open... like, when will THEY be closing since they are NOT closing NOW.

Yes, I am serious. :P

Are you serious? NONE of the schools are viable. They will all be closing, permanently. Just a question of which schools die first.
