Thread regarding ADP layoffs

These are replacements, not layoffs

The layoffs will only end when all of the experienced, veteran, "high-priced" employees are replaced by cheap workers who will work at the new hubs. Remember, these are not real layoffs, they are "replacements". The work is still there, it is just the cheap employees who are going to be doing it instead of the "expensive" employees.

That's right, people can work hard but companies can terminate them for any reason, no matter how hard they work or how valuable they are. There is no loyalty toward employees.

Perhaps ADP has not lost its core values (making money), but it has lost its mind in replacing valuable employees with cheap, inexperienced workers who are not motivated to succeed. The company is in a downward spiral.

Perfectly said by @UlrZNXy-bet.

Several things need to be kept in perspective. The newbies don't realize that associates used to be able to buy ADP stock through the 401(k) program and that was taken away several years ago so that only those who received a share or two from their 5 or 10 year anniversaries had the ability to vote. Oh, they stopped that 'gift' as well. ADP stock has more than doubled in the last five years and it is not the employees who are benefiting from this. If you want to see who is making $ then search for ADP stock exercised on the internet. It is public information.

ADP used to revere their consultants and reward them in MANY ways because they were the individuals who were keeping their clients from leaving the company and moving to our competitors. Ultimate was started by ex-ADPers who knew our weaknesses and they're making a fortune with the help of hundreds of people who used to work for ADP. People want to be appreciated and Ultimate knows how to do that.

It is no secret that the El Paso and Maitland offices were opened to hire people at lower pay in order to replace the tenured employees. If you work in one of those locations and are unhappy about this news then get your resume together and move on.

ADP needs to recognize that there are too many overpaid managers and not enough (correctly paid/appreciated) customer service agents. Who wants to see Carlos make a visit to your office and see him take a call or two? I do!

At one time ADP was known as the employer of choice unfortunately that was when it was really true, another favorite was every person counts. I guess now it’s new favorite line is the bottom line counts more than it’s seasoned employees or even its clients. I wish all our clients good luck with their new trainees - two months of training might not be enough to have your company’s payroll or taxes done correctly, but then again they’ll be saving money with all their new out of college recruits!

This is and has always been a replacement strategy. ADP has never been overstaffed, more like always understaffed! Quick way to get rid of high wage associates in high wage areas, can't be accused of age discrimination, you sign your rights away with the severance package.

Replace US based staff with PHP staff that cost 10% of what California Staff cost.

I agree with you. They are not layoffs they are replacements: All complimentary of course from the brainless team of shareholders who think it’s a good way to earn more profits.

I heard the same thing from several leaders before I left on 6/1. Also heard they are bringing in new skill sets and job titles that haven’t existed before at ADP. So I agree 100% this is s replacement strategy and not a RIF.

Learning leader confirmed that 30% of those who took the VERP will be replaced either off-shore or at a strategic location.
