Last time I saw the percentage employed it was under 6 percent for all of online in. 6 month period. The online school is only required to keep track of culinary and interior design for DOE. Not sure why. Gainful Employment looks at salaries based on student financial info. If you are a well paid waitress with a game art degree, that is all they see. The reality is that many game art and animation people don’t have the people skills to even work at McDonalds or retail. If you graduated from online and feel offended, sorry that you didn’t get the same education an on ground school provides. You can hide a lot from the world when you take classes in your basement.

If none of the portfolios show a student as employable; why are there graduates that are employed?

Jdd- I have years of experience reviewing portfolios, in my time at an AI school, I did not see one portfolio that was employable. It was a constant concern by on ground Career Services that the people taking these classes did not have cohesive, quality portfolios. If a person wanted to draw monsters... online would just let them. Every online assignment was the same monster. In the end, you have a crappy portfolio that only shows minimal illustration skills... not enough to get hired in the real world outside your basement. Web design grads, that couldn't build a website, graphic design grads with spelling errors and 3rd quarter work that just got a BA degree. I heard the "Academic Chairs" for online try to defend their students when they had no clue what a marketable portfolio looks like. Online AI was the biggest joke and biggest money maker.

@Uk8MNwY-jdd ---- not true -- and no I'm not a troll -- don't know who's portfolio you were looking at --- but it wasn't the ones I have seen -- or their current employers.

I am sure they are trying to strike a deal with accreditation . I wouldn't be surprised if DOE buckles and gives them something. It is all so shifty. Art programs can not be taught online. I've seen their portfolios and they are horrible, but online is a huge money maker. It is a gamer in a remote town's dream to live in their parent's basement and pursue a media arts degree by drawing busty women and not so original monsters

DCEH and Ai Pittsburgh leadership are frantically trying to figure out how to keep accreditation.

Bad news is Online has a retention rate %50 lower than ground campuses. So let's funnel all the "cease enrollment" (teach out) school students to a Onlins offering that can't keep students.

Word is that they are gearing up to fool middle states into letting us stay accredited.

Dropping the axe himself? That would be the most ethical thins DCEH has done to date.

“the least aligned institution to the Dream Center’s mission would be the Art Institutes. But he (Barton) said the (DCF) foundation would consider offering more technology training degrees through the Art Institutes to fill growing job market needs. ”

‘These kinds of things that are very expensive to teach - and they’re jobs that don’t pay well out of college.’”
