Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

Yammer?

Reposting a question from below. Can anyone confirm if the thread about the Executives coming to work during this time was posted or referenced on Yammer recently? Interested in knowing how the company will respond to this or if they are even aware of this site. Glad to be out of there and not hearing everyone complaining about the acquisition. Wishing everyone left a positive experience as they move out of CA and on to the next thing. Did anyone pay attention to the filing that shows all the money they made that was filed today?

Last post is absolutely right. I wouldn’t show up either. Especially if I didn’t show up before, why show up now. Like quitting smoking the day before you know you are going to die.

If you were the executives and you just got handed millions of dollars would YOU keep showing up? I wouldn't.

There was a mention of this post on Yammer. They won’t post badge reports but the person that posted it does have the high ground as he is in the office every day so probably was smart for him to respond and not some of the others. At least we know someone is reading this and telling management for how ever long they will be around which isn’t long.

I called HR today and asked this question. They don't state if someone is eligible for rehire. They just give dates and titles and that's it. Someone should post on Yammer now!

I think the no rehire reference is not about getting rehired at CA but if another company calls for a reference and asks if the employee is eligible for rehire, which is a way around asking details. CA uses a service so not sure if this would be a problem though.

Good advice. Hard for them to do a town hall from their vacation homes, but good advice to not get someone fired now since their stock won’t vest if they have stock. Not sure about no rehire though, CA no longer rehires former employees and at Broadcom those jobs will not be back filled. These executives never came to Islandia over the last few years anyway so them hiding from Islandia is to be expected. Only a few of them came out here and that was far and few between. It is not a great place to be now and very depressing so I can’t say I blame them. They are all focused on themselves and not the employees. What can you do. I bet someone who doesn’t care can post the question on Yammer but as someone already said, only a few would post anyway, and the one person that takes the most time off doesn’t even use Yammer and wouldn’t tell the truth anyway because he doesn’t know how.

Who would be foolish enough to post this on Yammer? Even if you might not be fired it could lead to a “no rehire” clause being put in your HR file.

A better way to phrase it would be asking if the execs could host meetings in the offices to talk with employees...that way they are physically present without accusing them of going AWOL
