Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Can't figure this one out

I can't understand why does this entire f'n industry believe that getting rid of seasoned employees will solve all the problems that were created by the lousy decisions made by lousy upper management... We see it again and again... In Citrix and other companies...

Has this ever worked for anybody? Nope. And yet the same thing keeps happening... Why is a mystery to me...

There is nothing revolutionary about cutting people. Its easy and comes down to management saying "hey cut $100M from our run rate this year." Then when they cut and reduce run rate, wall street likes that and stock goes up and makes company more attractive because look like company are operating at a lower cost (profitable).

How do you cut? Easy. just like you do at any company. you get HR to print out list of all employees, how much they make, how long they worked at company, what level they at, etc. you then tally up how much it cost to severance each person out. also tally up how much you save by cutting person. You also have to look at who you cutting. Can a department survive with bare bones staff? Are people you cutting on the money making side of the company. you also cut areas that are less important or where you can outsource. Can you shift people over if you cut their leadership?

Besides, big companys lke citrix, there are always areas to clean up house because of the bloating and mismanagement of spending.

To answer question, no getting rid of seasoned employees no solve problem. The problem comes from the top
