I hear the cashiers in the Lodge are being laid off and replaced with some kind of self-checkout system. Supposed to happen at the beginning of September.

There's a lodge?
No one is losing their job at the Lodge. Anyone that is affected by the new self-checkout process are either staying on board doing another position or will be transferred to a different food account making the same money. There is no lose/lose situation here. Plus - the Lodge employees are employees of Restaurant Associates not Viacom so we don't have much say. Self-checkout is the future....we should get used to it.

The Lodge isn't the Lodge without Bibi, Leidy and Zellette and frankly self-checkout always ends up sort of disasterously
This is 100% true. One of the cashiers told me most of them will be laid off. A lucky few may be reassigned to other duties.
Personally, I'm over this trend of self-checkout everywhere you go. Sadly it will continue in all areas of our lives.

Those lodge people get paid peanuts. , compared to all those making 100k plus doing nothing .
