Were there layoffs in Westford today ? It was obvious that WF was not going to get closed.
It is not possible to close down a site all of a sudden. Such things need to be planned and
can take over a year to materialize.

Uf6Erum-8hvk: Agreed, my thoughts are exactly the same. I am also ex-BRAS wfd. My comment was regarding closing WF down in a month. I doubt it can be done so fast. Getting rid of couple of layers of useless mgmt in WF is the best thing to do. Most of them are unemployable in the industry and hence will never leave on their own.
BTW, which group did you work. I was in BRAS infra.
BRAS could lose two layers of useless ignorant management and do just fine. A few smart eng do all the useful work and would get more done without the busybody clowns; most are too lazy/old to move. ex-BRAS wfd

If Juniper decides to close Westford, it would need to move jobs to Bangalore first. This can take around 2 years. It may be that they decide to close Westford and start the winding down process. No way they can just shut Westford down on Sept 1.
I am an ex-Juniper Westford employee. BRAS, a major part of Westford generates around $450m annually for Juniper. It would be unwise to just shut down Westford abruptly and sabotage a strong cash flow business.
