Micron layoffs rumors have started circulating once again at our office. I've been hearing that something big might be happening at the end of the month.
I'm not sure if this is based on anything concrete or just speculation, so I'm hoping somebody here can confirm or deny this info.

@UdvHqHY-zlyc: Agreed. Just look at how many Americans were fired by Micron and then backfilled by Filipino after Filipino. Most other places the backfills are citizens of India, but here in Boise they are mostly citizens of the Philippines.
Laying off Americans to hire visa employees is wrong (actually illegal) ... i think that is a bad sign to join :(
Also, Micron laying off Americans to hire visa holders, will jeopardize the visa renewal( GC) process for all H1B's
Why would a layoff jeopardized your green card status? Micron lays off Americans so you are safe as they are expanding in areas where most of the products are sold in.
I am thinking of joining Micron and I would need my PERM GC to be filed asap. Will that be jeopardized, how often does micron layoff ?

Yes, it will be like you were never there. The place is so big now that any position can be replaced, just look at the CEOs we have had over the years.
I hope everyone the best, but cannot say I care about anyone in the management positions as another poster has stated in this thread. How do they get away with all of the stuff they do to harm others after all of these years? We have lost some really good people out here and some just up and quit because they are so tired of being treated badly.

There are layoffs in August, December, next August (sure, like you will still be here) and everything in between. Different departments are scattering people everywhere. Depends where you work. Once you get"scattered you could still be scattered out the door. Why on earth would you let Micron make decisions like that for you? People, people there are other places to work. Take control of your own working life. Remember that once you are gone it will be like you were never there, no matter who you are.That's just the way it is.
Hopefully it is some managers who do nothing and take credit for all of our hard work!
