Any word yet on the asm layoffs. Will it be like the co managers? Seems odd they would hire tons of new asms then restructure to reduce count. Is this confirmed yet or just rumors at this point.

To the laster poster: Nawwwww. It's a paper tiger, an idealism. I don't care what policy Homo Orrifice rolls out, it all works in reality on a store by store, Market/Store manager basis. Walmart's got the thickest ccase of cronyism I've ever seen. If you already fit in you'll stay in, and if you weren't, well......
AM's will now have a cap on how long they can stay an AM like the Co mngrs do. 2 yrs I believe then you get demoted if you haven't moved up. They are beefing up on AM's. When they demote all of the AM's that have been just riding along never even trying to promote, they will have new AM's at less pay already. We have 2 AM's now that have been AM for 5+ yrs and one that's been AM for over 10 yrs!!!! They have never even applied for CO Mngr. Its supposed to be a stepping stone to SM not a sit and take up payroll job. Too many have promoted to AM and just stay there too afraid or lazy to move up. This will stop those people from taking a position from someone that really wants to move up. I will be happy to see these lazy mngrs be forced to move up or move out. Its needed to happen for a long time.
you take one test each week then your score is based by adding up two weeks combined so two scores of 85% or higher you can do poorly one week but bring your avg up with a high score on the next. and also i think like the co mgr position they are looking to lighten asms that are topped out and haven’t moved up. so hire new ones now at a lower pay rate and replace the ones that are going bye bye
That is incorrect. When you attend the Academy you have a total of (3) attempts to pass your assessment. If you do not receive a passing score of 80% or higher, you are removed from role. Your Market Manager has no say in it. You will be demoted!
6 weeks you will know. Training at academy , take a test, have 2 trys if you fail both it's up to the market manager if they keep you. I found out at my store yesterday.
