Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

No future at Teradata

Give it up and just start looking for another job. TD is a one product company, and that product is over three decades old. Lund et al are playing on the brand recognition and selling the notion that TD is a going concern in hopes of a fat payday if some deep pocket s---er buys the outfit. Not going to happen. Anyone stupid enough to buy what's left of TD has alreday been duped out of any assets they may have had.

Bumped from @UME5iRH-4vaa for being on point.

Agreed! PS has no value outsource it to some cheap offshore company and just sell product.

F - No one is going to buy Teradata. Lots of bets were placed on Amazon but it did not go well. Many of us know the hybrid cloud offering is on paper and doesn't work. Best option for TD is now to go private and trim down the FAT wich includes PS and become a product company. Just sell the hardware (most of us agree its the best MPP platform on earth, may not be in cloud).

Exactly what is "retirement age" these days?

The "old" employees are the only ones left who can get anything useful done. TD is awash with new grads unable to speak or write in complete sentences, much less find their arses with both hands.

There's a lot of old employees long past retirement age.
