Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

What determines who gets the pink slip?

Just wondering what plays the biggest role in the decision making?

Is it last in first out? If it is, I'm pretty much screwed in that case.

I've also been hearing that it's those with highest pay who will most likely be targeted, so it'd be nice to know if that's true and how much danger I really am in.

I think they wanted to let go everyone on 7nm program, but that would be too massive, so they broke it into two waves.

Not based on performance or how much you know or how much you make or how many years of service .I know this for a fact .

Lol, managers were indeed looped in. I heard last thursday that lists were made, the email would go out at 3:30 monday and they'd start calling people. The e-mail was correct, guess we'll see about the rest.

We'll know tomorrow. I think sr mgmt made the call, as managers were not looped in.

Truthfully it should be based on performance.

you will find out in less than 24 hrs. Even if you are safe now, there is no guarantee you will survive the 3rd wave.

Just wait until it gets announced? Why stress over something you can’t control.....
