Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

Nov 5

No damage before Nov 5. Action starts on Nov 5 - GIS, HR, Finance to be impacted most. CPO safe this year except maybe costly locations.

Nov 5th is the date that's right! Only essential staff ie Sales and Services will remain fairly safe also comes just after c800 RIF so a slimmed down org is now complete. No backfilling of anyone that leaves and waiting to see BC plans for re org, also CA World will be Broadcom event so will see what our customers say about that, Corp functions will be slimmed down/ integrated and main office Hubs will remain. MG will not make comment until after Nov meeting. My Advice polish up your CV now before Christmas Thanks Giving . A truly Saas company to compete is a long way off !!

Islandia is soooo screwed. Anyone there needs a quick exit strategy. I’d say that office will be down to 100 people.

I already have another job lined up, better pay and the luxury to work with a lot of talented ex CA developers that were laid off of by our CEO ... that's OK - I have been milking CA for my paychecks until my start date.

Two months away....smart thing for most people expecting severance would be to line up a job with a start date in mid November to early December. Get your payout, take a quick vacation and start your new job.

Take your example from Gregoire...he’s not coming to work anymore, why should you do more than the absolute minimum until then?

By "costly locations", they mean Islandia, more specifically.

@UPmE0Ld-1oln

It would depend on what your current job status is? If you are currently jobless then it really does not matter. If you are having even a decent enough job then you should think twice before joining CA.

The executive managenment at CA is very opaque and not sharing any news- busy counting their payout I guess. Senior and mid-level management are themselves clueless on their and their team future.

I think its a big risk joining CA now.Think about this. Even few months back, CA was hiring and now most of those jobs will go away. They even had this campaign running - "Bring What you Bring".

Now for those people who joined CA recently, they are really in a tight spot. They even wont get a decent severance package.

So be very very careful !!!!

Hoping they move some R&D to India we are worried about mass layoff here as well.

Be realistic. Broadcom has many offices in NA. They may close some locations and consolidate others. They're not going to pull out of NA completely.

So I guess they are keeping everyone in finance, legal, marketing and communications? Get real. Cuts will be more and deeper.

By "costly locations" that basically means every office in NA.
