CA ITC is very bloated and top heavy. Team leads reporting to Senior team leads who in turn reports to Director who reports to Senior Director and Senior Director reports to Vice President . Lots of management people with very few Senior Technical folks like Architect, Senior Architect - you can count them in your fingers.

Overall technical talent is mediocre and day by day the quality is degrading. Reason - Courtesy the constant layoffs, good technical talent are wary to join CA. Secondly, the mediocre managers who have stayed back in CA does not want to hire good talent in order to perpetuate their rule. Result -Mediocrity breeds mediocrity.

Too many entitlements. Half of the time you can find many CA folks either in one of the two cafeterias or in football ground, cricket ground , basketball court or the lawn tennis.

I don't think Broadcom is going to put up with all these. They have a very flat hierarchy and lot of these management folks and mediocre technical folks who just come to office and do nothing will definitely be asked to leave

So well definitely lot of layoffs round the corner- the GIS folks, HR and finance would be definitely impacted. Rumour is that Broadcom is mainly interested in Mainframe division so other product teams are also at risk.

Its going to be one helluva of a bumpy ride, the likes of which we have not seen before. Folks would know that The other name of CA is Change Always because of so many changes that CA has wenr through but this change is going to be the Mother of all Changes

It will be tougher to get good people in India , after this news . ForIT is the beginning of doom of IT in Hyderabad . With this kind of rebellion , no one will come forward to setup a company or expand their footprint in Hyderabad . Accept and move on .

@UPDv6rg-qip I fully agree. Broadcom buying CA is basically a good thing for India, not sure why people have doubts. There are many products that need support team even during restructure period, most likely the NA teams will transition those over to us and thus ITC will need more people if anything. Overall its good time to be in ITC from my perspective.

Rules are not strong in India as US. Employee does not get decent severance package here. But in CA/Broadcom lot of jobs will come to India from US after acquisition.

Is there such a thing as severance pack in India?

If the job market is so hot in India, why does anyone care if they are getting sacked? Take the severance and go find another job and pocket the severance money. Is it strange that this trade group is demanding no one lose their jobs? Is that realistic? The jobs that will be lost in India will move to WIPRO or HCL most likely. Jobs will stay in India. Unlike jobs that are lost in other parts of the globe. If India is going to become like other countries, companies won’t come here any longer and no jobs will be created. Actually I just answered my question, keep fighting FORIt, this way companies don’t bring jobs to India and keep them where they are.
