Read comment section in the link. Hyderabad has 1500 head count and reducing 1k is practically not possible.

Unless you are a mainframe programmer in Bangalore, you are joining a company (CA), about to be acquired by a technology holding company known for layoffs and cost cutting (Avago/Broadcom), with plans to sell of your business unit to a third, yet unknown company. Bangalore has dozens of companies better than this s**tshow.

Yes the news is true so far. Not sure about 8000 though. This 8k number may be through out next year , not on day 1.
It's already communicated to GIS folks, ONLY 50 out 700+ engineer will stays and their last date would be Nov 5.
Guessing they are planning to close many office locations and reduce the headcount in ITC, Santa Clara and Texas office.
@UNZnX73-iuu, I know senior members in IT who were in meeting with Broadcom CIO and the broadcom team last week. NO ONE has been informed of their last day. The meetings ere just to explain the plan, the culture and then gather information of IT services and apps.
Yes, people will be laid off in 3 phases in IT. Nov-05, March 05 and July. Who goes when will be announced by October. All CA employees should know by early October their disposition. As of now, no one knows what their last day is and what you here is utter rumor or lie.
God give strength to IT people and all CA people who will be impacted. Hope all find good positions outside of CA.
I have heard from someone in IT that has been will let go and given retention money to stay through the transition. They have been told of the plan. Numbers are not clear, but notifications have started.
Not true. I work in CA and no one has been laid off yet as part of Broadcom acquisition. Some people being let go might be part of the earlier 800 members but absolutely not true WRT acquisition.
Yes, layoffs will happen on Nov 05. But numbers no one known. The media announcement seems to be BS and based on rumor mills. Some laid off sick people's forum seems to have spoken to media.
It is unnecessarily adding to anxiety for people who already are worried.
900-1000 were given pink slip ... blatant lies. Do they mean 2 in every 3 persons were asked to leave?
