Does anyone know why or when they started letting managers appeal there transfers?

They don’t appeal transfers. I do know however, especially here in northern Ohio, they’ve been shuffling and bouncing their store managers around a lot lately though which is odd. Store managers USED TO stay at a location for at least four years when I first started. Now they’re being bounced around every 3-6 months to a new store. I don’t know what the hell is going on with that.
One store manager told me that the company is not doing well financially and if a manager fails to make numbers, they shuffle them around to new stores. He said that they could put Warren Buffet in as one of the store managers and he wouldn’t be able to make that location money. Nobody wants to go there and shop when they could go across the street to Aldi’s, Walmart, Marc’s, or the Dollar Store to shop where it’s a lot cheaper. Even his own employees don’t even shop at Giant Eagle and if they do, they usually buy something stupid like a bag of chips or a can of energy drinks/soda for work-nothing big. Most of them go right to the competitor to shop-not that they pay them enough.
They don’t! Whatever you’ve heard about managers, particularly the store managers, appealing transfers is NOT TRUE.
When your salary and making $100k+ a year, you go where they tell you and send them a “thank you card” afterwards!
