The layoffs at Awesomeness affected corporate positions that were duplicative with Viacom, including human resources, IT, legal and finance departments. But multiple producers and creative executives, as well as personnel in marketing and talent partnerships are also among those getting let go.
I like how you left off the part about many of the positions cut were duplicates that Viacom already had. The only thing that is potentially worrying, is the fact they let producers go. But, now AwesomenessTV is working under its former management that left the company to work for Viacom, including Kelly Day and Paula Kaplan. Viacom has its issues, a lot of them, but it acquiring a digital media company(for a discount no less) and putting it under the control of ATV's former CBO and chief talent officer seems to be a damn good idea, one of the few it's had. Hell, even Paramount got ATV's founder/CEO working for it.
