What do you all think about the email that came out today about the additional increase? I’m not a financial person but why is it stressed it’s a one time deal? Is that so people don’t look for it every year? And why is it going to be a separate item on our checks. Is that so they can take it away at any time? Just a little confused by it. Has anybody heard how much it’s going to be? In our group we’re still waiting to hear what our normal merit increase will be.

Continued Smoke & Mirrors.
Years ago I thanked my boss for ADP teaching and training me to be such a valuable employee. I had taken those skills I learned and found a company that appreciated them, and I haven’t looked back since. I do feel bad for my colleagues that are stuck there and have to put up with all this c-ap now though.
I used to be one of those circus animals. So true. LOL!
"clueless and lame circus animals jumping for peanuts after every performance." - thank you for that quote....totally agree with you and thanks for the big chuckle I enjoyed reading it.....SO TRUE unfortunately!!
When I used to work at ADP, my manager told me this after a particularly good review that I had:
"You won't get rich working for ADP. "
I guess he was right.
@UKBLGLT-dbec - Yes. Very insulting and down-right DISRESPECTFUL. Poor attempt, except for the clueless and lame circus animals jumping for peanuts after every performance. Nauseating to watch.

Based on PA rating
3.0 - 3.9 PA = .2
4.0 - 4.9 PA = .4
5.0 = .6
Spot on!
see the previous post.. this is what you got... depending on your PA
3.0 - 3.9 PA = .2
4.0 - 4.9 PA = .4
5.0 = .6
I don't know of anyone who received anything close to 1 percent on this one time merit increase due to the Trump tax cuts. Most people I spoke to received 0.200 percent. Yes you read that correctly. Why even bother? What an insulting gesture.
It was less than 500 dollars.
Manager: big smile....”most companies won’t do this merit increase. You won’t see that ever again” as if it was actually worth all the hoopla. But not going to look a gift horse in the mouth... I mean- now every three weeks (cause you know- taxes get taken) I can maybe buy a gallon of milk or a gallon of gas. I couldn’t help it - me to boss “ no most companies would even waste their time on such an insult”.
I think a percentage increase is more advantageous than a one-time $1,000 "bonus" that many of the large corporations are giving their employees.
Hypothetically, if you made $50,000 annually and got a 1% bump, that would equate to $500 each year for the duration of your employment with ADP. This could be significantly better than a one-time bonus.
Of course, the variables in this are your annual salary and the percentage of the increase. So I'll withhold judgment until I see the percentage.
Oh yeah Baby! Woohoo! You might get one free taco a month on that! Factor in the stress from the ADP environment and you are ripe for major health issues.
Truth is, nothing ADP can do will repair the damage they have done. Carlos - YOU ARE THE EXTINCT TYPEWRITER here. They could double everyone's salary tomorrow and it won't fix the knowledge drain and skill loss they inflicted on the company, employees, and the clients. You are right in saying that if they even were to raise salaries back for the newbies then they are still left with in-experienced employees not able to properly service clients or understand the complexities of the domain.
It is merely just a matter of time before the cracks lead to rubble. Carlos will get his feared dreaded legacy by his own hands.
ADP basically subtracted that from your normal merit increase. Then put it back as the one time merit increase. So you got the same merit increase as they planned on giving to the associates. But MGMT thinks that the associates will think they got more.
Awfully low. Obscenely low.
Baes on your PA rating it’s .2, .4, or
.6 percent of your salary BEFORE your merit increase
3.0 - 3.9 PA = .2
4.0 - 4.9 PA = .4
5.0 = .6
If I make $60,000 and got 3.5 on my PA I’m getting 120$ more a year. Divide by 26 pay periods and that’s $4.62 more per check b4 taxes.
Was this worth the company delivered email announcement??
The entire idea of tossing a cheap tiny merit increase to the employee base after the raping of the companies long term dedicated staff reminds me of an abusive marriage. Anyone who chooses to stay due to that needs their head examined. ADP has a history of wife beaters.
Merit increase...when other companies were giving $1,000 to each of there employees after tax cuts were put in place by President Trump, ADP/Carlos made a donation into the ADP relief and scholarship funds on our behalf..(and I’m sure they got the write off for their generosity)...... hmmm. I need some relief- how do I file for that?
This will be an incremental (not paid out at once), separate line item so they can track it, and probably write that off too. When I asked my boss about it - “I don’t know but if it an additional 1% or something, it’s better than nothing”. an additional 1% of underpaid rates is nothing paid out incrementally. More of an insult. I’m hoping I am proved wrong and Carlos does the right thing and gives us more. One can still dream.....
I believe it is a wake up call in response to the associates who are throwing in the towel-knowing some of the mistreatment many suffer is not worth any amount of money.
There are a lot of departing associates-outside of retirement and layoffs-who have chosen to leave ADP for more fair and beneficial situations. Being employed by a GreedMonger is NOT the "best thing since sliced bread" for EVERYONE.
ADP knows valuable talent, who perform well, yet not treated fairly, are walking, and marketable enough to walk into a 1i0 degree situation, for the better. The additional increase is called RETENTION pay/enticement.
LOL, what a pharse, out of there in the BIG Wave going on 10/5 of the Now dubbed VERP with heavy emphasis on the V! In the end this is NOT the Company the Taub’s and Lautenberg founded, Josh Weston or Art Weinbach provided leadership and equality throughout. Management took a turn of Inherited Leadership from aqusitions over time that have no clue about the Core Values ADP was built on, it was Family. Today Its ONLY about numbers, slashing anything and everything to achieve their bonuses and golden parachutes forgoing Employees, Products, Services and Clients. The mindset all of Ex-Com and Senior Leadership have is the formentioned are expendable, they are not, hence being around for almost 40 years, this not my ADP sorry to say.
It will be interesting to see if those of us that are taking the Early Retirement Package will have this on our last pay of 10/05?......
.....As far as this separate line item...."smoke and mirrors".....
When I worked at ADP, that happened to me two times. Me and my colleagues were told both times that we would be getting a one time merit increase which was not associated with our usual yearly increases. Both times, management never made it clear why they were doing this. When I directly asked my manager, he said that management was just thanking us for our work. Hmm...
At any rate, both the unscheduled increases came at a time where each time there were about a dozen of my colleagues who left ADP for better jobs. So the increase came on the heels of quite a few people leaving the company.
I don't know why ADP is giving this latest increase, but I suspect that it may be in response to the high turnover of the newer employees and an attempt to try to calm veteran employees, whose jobs are on the chopping blocks since their salaries are way too high.
Interesting. The plan was for ADP to eliminate well paid workers and replace them with cheap ones. This new wage increase is going against the grain of ADPs newfound compensation cheapness. Does this mean that ADP is starting to panic in realizing their folly in trying to replace seasoned, proven workers with low-cost newbies? And if so, in attempts to stop the outflow of workers by increasing wages, how much will ADP increase this compensation? Will its efforts succeed in retaining enough employees to keep the company going? Perhaps ADP will have to increase wages back to the levels they were before they started their "reorganization" or even beyond those wage levels. Then at that point, instead of competent, seasoned, well paid employees they will have well paid employees who are not experienced and continue to have performance challenges in being unable to properly service ADPs clients.
My, my. What were they thinking when they started this reorg, not knowing what they were doing? No matter what happens, ADP will reap what it has sown. Good luck!
It's all for accounting purposes so they can compare it to the tax savings also mentioned in the email. I would also think they keep it separate in order to drum up how big a deal it is and how they are giving back. When I read the email it reminded me of an abusive spouse who comes back with an apology and flowers when they go to far
