Just saw this and yes it is confirmed. This Carrier / United Technologies is closing the Lincolnton, NC plant by the end of 2019, it will happen in stages and everyone will be given a 60-day notice, the first round of layoffs will happen at the beginning of June. Most of the production is moving to Mexico but not all.
lost my job at UTC in 2006, was there for 20 years, job went to PR and Singapore China, went to college and have a job now with hardly any employee benefits, no sick time, etc... wish our American jobs could come back
The only question is whether the management team that has diligently worked toward the goal of no US manufacturing fully understands that they are quickly making themselves redundant. My guess is not, as they display such poor reasoning abilities over the past 10 years.
@Duck9696 this is true. The plant is closing. They have not alerted anyone because they don't have to right now. Ask any currently employee and they will confirm it. It was announced on 10/17/2018.
Well, I worked at the Arden Hills, MN location that was closed in 2017 - jobs were moved to Mexico and Poland. The UTC way....
Navojoa is not well-suited for the small run/EOL type products Lincolton builds.
Old Textbook PR, don't be an id--t. UTC will not build any factory in America.

Which tariff helped make the decision to throw American workers under the bus for cheaper labor in Mexico? There is never enough profit to satisfy corporate greed. UTC pretends to enjoy putting more investment into America but it seems that more money in the pockets of higher ranking employees who make these decisions is to blame.
It’s true. Plant moving to Mexico and according to insiders it’s is because of Trunps newly imposed tariffs.
This is a Nazi company...look at their history for the past three decades. Over 65% of UTC employees are outsourced overseas. You are just the cattle glazing the field for upper management's handsome bonus. Wait, wait, wait, management will give you a BS story on why. Coming soon!
Absolutely confirmed. The same people who worked in Maine when UTC closed here, moved to NC. 18 months and it's gone. Make America great again my a--. Corporate greed and disregard for American workers. F--- UTC and all of it's entities. Boycott all UTC products.
I work here... it's not fake news...
It is true! I work at the factory and it is happening.
Majority of the jobs are going to Navojoa Mexico.
I do not see any news on any of the wire services that the UTC plant in Lincolnton is closing. I assume this original post is just a rumor or someone spreading FUD
Anybody that couldn't see this one coming is either blind or brain dead; which describes management perfectly.
