With little to no layoff chatter here, does it mean we are in the clear? At least for a while?
I'm certainly hoping so.

Or maybe lacks basic math skills?
Because maria manns being "nice"
Why would they layoff ppl in October giving the big package when they could just wait till April?
you're ALL going to be laid off.
They bought DST for the clients, not the employees.
There is another layoff scheduled for October 2018. IT AIN"T OVER!
If you really want to know what the quarterly numbers
Only batman knows
You must be a special kind of stupid.
Does anyone remember the "Fun with D--k and Jane" movie with Jim Carrey? The Alex Baldwin CEO persona fits Bill Stone to a t. What a jackass. And he probably took notes on how to be a jackass by watching baldwin to.
Absolutely. I'd buy SS not a long term bet by any means but sure to see a significant appreciation.
Honestly you're insane if you're not actively looking for another position now, it's likely either now or after the big 2019 layoff when the market if flooded with other applicants.
No it does not mean you are in the clear. No one is in the clear till ssnc is done with their shuffling around of work to offshore process till the ratio is a lot more offshore than onshore.
Idk why you’d relax, there’s basically four posibilies for associates still here, you need to decided what you’re going to do.
Get laid off prior to April, getting the DST serverence package and start looking for another job.
Wait around and get laid off after April, getting a vastly inferior package (so we believe). This also mean you will be in competition with also the other “hangers” let go for other jobs in your area.
Find another job before April and leave with no package.
Survive the next layoff and be part of the life support team.
My thinking is when the year is up, and SS&C can use a more miserly severance package, we'll see a larger layoff. Don't forget, Stone said DST has 3500 "hangers on", minus 850 that still 2650 souls. All they need to is complete some big projects to get things in a steady state, drop unprofitable projects all together, and they actually need very little staff to keep these legacy apps ticking over.
They're going to milk these customers for all they can! Where are TA customers (for example) going to go?
