Now that things have blown up in their face and the leadership dropping like flies, the service has gone from bad to worse. The people left behind are the 3rd and 4th stringers and they are mediocre at best. Decommissioning process is a joke. Billing is ridiculous. Data Lake is so bad and unreliable. Morale is .... well there is none. Put this business out of its misery. Outsource the whole darn thing. We need a new partner desperately.

Has anyone heard any roumor with whom Coretech is in negotiation about NewCo?
DT is now sending out pishing “test” emails to people that looks like a recruiter is interested in your skills / interested in talking to you. It is pretty well crafted unless you know what to look for.
Low blow. Whomever approved this campaign in these times should be fired. Oh wait, we see by this thread business IT has zero faith in Contech/Risk so I guess the writing is on the wall. He or she will be fired!
Pretty cruel joke to those left on the Titanic.
Coretech is comprised of people stolen from businesses, blocked from moving back. They either have an exit plan or are too new to know any better.
I am sure this is exactly what a business partner wants. Hiring a bunch of whiners claiming it’s not their fault when things go wrong. You guys would be the first ones I would layoff at CoreTech if I was a buyer. You are the reason why CoreTech has such a bad reputation.
Wow UBNbPwH-sfc, i’d pat you on the back, but your hand is in the way. I am loving how you make assumptions like we don’t work with our CFOs or we don’t understand IT Finance. You pass the blame on everyone, but yourself. Fact is your service is subpar. We are looking to outsource you...finally. I do not know one business person in my two decades at GE who praised CoreTech.
Bring anonymous slido back.
Why do we need to be candid here.
@UBNbPwH-sfc, don't act like you know everything, you know nothing at all. Massive cost out needed for PC refresh, for example, is because Coretech cannot ever make it cost effective with the massive ineffective org structure "managing" there.
I know who sfc is just from the words and cadence :)
CoreTech guy here. We have a lot of employee churn because of disappointment with business direction, no doubt about that, but new, talented people come in all the time, and the people who are here are INCREDIBLY talented. Honestly, these are some of the most skilled, informed, and widely invested people I have ever worked with. Unleashed on a problem, we solve it fast. Just as @UBNbPwH-sfc said, if you have problems, they are likely not our fault, even though we are the most visible and easy target for frustration.
Way to stay in the fight @UBNbPwH-sfc.
I’ve worked with a lot of good people in Coretech.
The level of ignorance in this thread is pretty high
First of all, nothing has blown up in Coretech’s face. Literally nothing. If you want to create some sort of narrative to make yourself feel better because of some process issues, then so be it but this thread is misreprenting the facts.
Stopping PC Refresh - Every business unit CEO/CFO/CIO told Coretech that they needed massive cost-out help and one of the many options offered was stopping PC Refresh for a period of time. Every BU helped make the decision. Please stop making it sound like it was a coretech decision.
It’s laughable that you’re comparing an AWS instance at GE against “a normal customer”. If you want to compare GE costs against F100 then we can talk. So many people forget that GE is one of the most targeted companies by hackers. A ‘normal customer’ would be completely owned by a hacker inside of a single day if it wasn’t engineered appropriately. If you want to debate it, then please go talk to a CISO.
Coretech billing - Again, BU CIOs/CFOs asked for everything that Coretech executed. Go ask your CFO how they feel about it before you assume anything. BU leaders also told Coretech to ignore any employee that is complaining about their bill.
Virtual Servers - App teams ordered Virtual Servers like drunken sailors. Costs skyrocketed and BU CIOs asked for approval controls to be put in place. Again, you’re pointing the finger in the wrong direction.
Coretech doesn’t run those dev tools. Digital team in SR run those.
Has it always been horrible in business people opinions? Seems to me decline was when non IT woman then used car guys took over.
To be honest, most of the processes that CoreTech had were a joke.
Why did it ever take 6 months to decommission a server? Why does it take 3 tiers of approvals to build a bloody virtual server? Why are they charging the business units a significant multiple of what Amazon charges a normal customer for an EC2 instance?
And finally pc refreshes... What a farce...
So yeah, GE should save a buck and rid themselves of the dead weight of CoreTech.
Stability of core systems like Confluence and Artifactory has deteriorated. Github appears OK, but who knows when the leftovers in CoreTech will need to upgrade or maintain Github for GE and botch it.
