Only some campus staff affected. Effective date 7/27. That two week period counts as “notice” which taps into your severance (even though you will still be physically on campus working). If you have been with the company 10 years, you would only now get 8 weeks of severance. Unethical AF.

According to HR it's actually 50 employees for WARN Act. How many campuses still have over 50 FT employees? How many campuses over 100? They are doing everything they can to screw the employees. First they send a letter with a August end date, then ignore that one, then send another letter with 9/11 as end date, however it's only sent to certain employees, others are getting less. Makes no sense to me how you claim WARN Act yet different titles at same campus are getting different letters/severance. Oh let the lawsuits fall where they may! The sh#t show continues.
This is first hand information. No one is getting severance. They made sure to lay off others earlier so they would not meet the standard of the WARN act. Adjuncts are contract workers - Not full employees. Take them out and count how many people are working at your locations. See? O one has "100 or more employees." You will be lucky to be paid an extra 2 weeks when your time comes. This was done in rounds for a reason. There is NO REASON for you to stay. Sorry, but its the true. Everyone will be left high and dry. Our coffers are thin and getting thinner as the student leave. Jump ship asap to any other job you can get. Save yourselves...that is all we have left.
The original post is first-hand information. People let go 7/27 who were notified 7/13 are not receiving full severance.
People - please only post what you know first hand. I still have friends working there and you all are freeking them out with your misinformation. I was let go and received full severance all the way back to my start at EDMC 4 years ago May. Yes, I lost my unused PTO but that was on me.

Klr- state’s, don’t end sentences with a preposition (with), use either a dash or comma before idiot, you idiot!
@U8XFW8F-cds Not getting 60 days just letting u go with no more pay. So only 1 month notice and you are required to report to work!
@U8XFW8F-kxl No b—-ch you’re the stupid one! For your information we are listed on the states warn report with over 100 employees. You need to not come on here and call people names and mind your business. Typically I wouldn’t have responded to your dumb comment but you have the nerve to be trolling a company that you obviously have no business with. I would cuss you out but I will keep it dumbed down for you to understand the words idiot!
They are foolish to ask everyone to continue to report to work for those two weeks. Many companies don't in a layoff situation because angry employees do things like sabotage files or steal equipment. I wonder why DCEH thinks these people will just happily continue to support the company for these two weeks, especially if they aren't paying severance.
From the June announce to to July 27 is 30 days then you get 30 more so technically they meet the WARN notice of 60 days from the announcement of the closure of the school. The WARN doesn't mean you don't have to work. It just means you get 60 days notice. S---s!
To the person who said no one has been with the company for 10 years that’s incorrect. When DCEH came in one of the first things I asked is if seniority would be impacted and the answer was NO. People have been loyal to their brands for years. I myself almost 11 years.
The Warn Act only applies if there are 100 or more employees at ONE location or 1000 or more company wide being let go. Read up on the Warn Act, it doesn't apply in all lay off situations. No wonder the schools are in such bad shape, there's a bunch of idiots working at the schools.
Closing campus, not sure about ones remaining open.
Definitely report it if they aren’t following the WARN Act in your state.
Yeah, but no one has been with "the company" for 10 years. EDMC doesn't own it anymore. You've been with the Dream Center for 1 year.
Are they doing layoffs at the campuses that are still open?
Well in IL that is only 30 days and not 60 days according to the warn notice. Are they going to pay 30 more days after that? Because John Crowley lies to the whole Chicago staff that we will get 60 day notice! It looks like they are not going according to the warn notice with 30 day notice. I will be looking to calling the state and an attorney if 30 days is my notice.
