I left GE last June and I'm still hoping for a GE turn around because many people I still care about are there. Lots of rumors are flying around but have heard but not confirmed any to be true. I know Fowler went to Nationwide, but did they name a replacement? I heard Anup is gone? I heard they are either moving IT back into the businesses or selling CoreTech to an unnamed company? Those of you still there best of luck. But I can tell you one thing based on experience, if you choose to leave GE you will be highly valued.....

you heard correct...only thing to add is Cybersecurity is probably being spun-off and Digital will probably go away in the next 18-24 months. The whole "digitial industrial" stuff has proven to be a flop and GE is retreating from it. You made the right move to leave and many many folks are looking outside GE for jobs right now to avoid getting laid-off/sold-off.
I just left GED 3 months ago, had a total of 16 years in GE ( most prior with Transportation) just couldn't handle the rumors anymore. So I have friends that still work at Renewables in 53, our group was moved to Digital about a year ago. I was just informed they moved back to Renewables and are no longer part of digital. Another thing I thought was strange as there manager told them to take as much vacation time as needed, this I thought was odd. I know there is permissive time off, but I'm reading into this. As far as being highly recruited with GE on the resume, well it worked for me. I left for more money and a better company with a future. So yes say what you want having GE on a resume does make a difference.
