Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

Acquisition Ready

They chucked ALL customer care languages to India. Newbies who know nothing about the processes, or the products, or the company, and worst of all, know nothing of the markets they will serve, have replaced seasoned professionals. Our team of 10 had combined 120 years of experience. And yet, none of us were given a fair chance to stay.

For the "smart a--" who asked in which planet the O.P leaves:

Why don't they layoff the CEO as well since this role CAN also be done in India?

Gregoire talked a good game, but in the end he couldn't grow the company. He consolidated offices, got rid of tons of longstanding intellectual capital, and moved much of the development team to the most expensive place in the US, Silicon Valley. People who were loyal to CA were replaced by people who couldn't get a job at Google or Facebook - and who would jump ship after 6 months. I know, I've talked to CA HR and retention was a major problem.

I agree that Islandia is dead. Time for people to wake up there and get off Long Island before it's too late.

Sad to see Islandia going away. Worked there for several years and then was transferred. Anyone that is in that place should start looking now as there are only so many finance jobs available on Long Island. CA had its challenges, but they tried to do the right thing by the people despite what many believe. All the positive changes they made over the last few years will all be iviserated by Broadcom pretty quickly. The positive thing about Broadcom reputationally is they will remove all the special benefits quickly so people won’t have to guess what is left. Just ask the poor people from Brocade. CA is going backwards and most of the current management team is to blame. The company has shrunk on the current CEO’s watch, but you wouldn’t know It based on the marketing spin they put out there. He ruined what was once a great company. Sad days ahead for people there and even sadder for those that remain. Many people had issues with CA, once you see what happens next you will wish Charles and Sanjay were back. Good luck.

CA has been offshoring jobs to India for about 15 years. What planet have you been on?

This isn’t new and if you were to at CA in a role that CAN be done in India then it eventually WILL be done there.

This is life in an old legacy software company that has been shrinking for 10 years+

A customer gave bad survey and canceled his contract with CA ( circa 23k/year) after having bad experience with support in another time zone(code for India).

How many other customers are about to switch to the competitors with this "non customer centric" action?

As someone said in another thread here, brush your resume.
