“Do the needful” is such a stupid phrase. Grow the hell up.
Try asking for the calculations they use to come up with this "inflated" quota. They will not let employees see at customer level. Bunch of lunatics running the asylum.
Sals are being targeted. Plans are in action to squeeze as many out the door as possible. Going to a strict territory model and stripping accounts to the inside. If you think quotas are hard to achieve now, they are going to be that much more difficult.
