Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Weekly schedules

So from now on they’re going to be making our schedules 2 weeks in advance. Is anybody else’s store doing this, and what do you think is the reasoning behind it?

The schedule should be made 3 weeks out just like the system is set up. People cd better schedule their life outside if sears.

It would save time for management and give them more time to gossip in the hub

Managements first hour should be out on the floor folding straightening etc help out as a team effort

Found out from my manager last week that.once you leave the store they can't send you a text and vice versa. The store manager was told if this happens they have to pay you for three hours. Has anyone else been told this? I guess someone was harassed to much and complained.

This is actually a good thing, but I'm sure my manager will screw that up. He likes to change all of the schedules around at the last minute, even if nobody calls out. Even the assistant managers think its nonsensical.

As long as management can’t get their sticky fingers on it mid way through it’s about time

New law in Oregon requires intense changes to the way SHC does scheduling and has hefty penalties to the employer and overtime to the employee for mistakes. The managers have been going crazy at my sears trying to by in compliance.

About time really, but when I worked for Sears/Kmart, it didn't matter what the schedule was, they would constantly change it last minute anyway.
