@U2qwVFC-4nyf No hate here, just facts. If you care at all about the students, recommend they go to a respectable and regionally accredited college. Community and State colleges cost about 1/4 the price of an Ai, and offer far greater opportunities for a prosperous future than an Ai for graduates.

@U2qwVFC-abo you are correct, your family and daughter are going to be better off without Ai. The options students were given are only beneficial if they are graduating in a quarter or two. She’ll have lots of options at other schools.

And yes, a clear Charlie Foxtrot. Ai doesn’t know what it is right now. According to DCEH we are nonprofit but according to DOE the school never received nonprofit status and is still a for profit business. Most campuses lost accreditation January 1, and other campuses are on accreditation probation, not all Ai schools are accredited by the same organization. It is not organized and never really has been.

It was once a valid and respected institution but the board of directors and executive greed changed the direction of the school.

my daughter was set to attend an Ai campus and wasnt informed of the closure until right before her orientation was set to start. when the closest open campus and online were given as options, i told them that at no point would these schools be getting ANY of our $$. The thing that really gets me, besides the fact we were not properly or timely informed, is that when the school decided to cease school sponsored housing - giving us 1 month to find new digs - we should have been informed THEN - because surely they knew at that time that campuses were going to be closed. it would have saved a lot of heartache and stress and last minute decision making on so many students and families.

I feel horrible for all of the staff, they probably knew something was up, but hoping it wasnt really going to happen.

better off now, but man - what a clusterf**k

Stop, we keep forgetting, it's all about the student. I get we are all pissed off. These students came to AI for reason. We will all land somewhere. These students came to us to fulfill a dream. In an environment where there is so much hate can we please remember It was indeed all about their work and passion.

If you are a current student, please cut your losses with AU and Ai and transfer to a local community or vocational college, or traditional state college, you have choices.

Avoid ALL "colleges" that say they are ACICS accredited, for-profit or nonprofit UNLESS they are a well established brick and mortal college and you can verify from an outside source they degree will add to your career potential (ask local professionals in your field of study what they think of the school).

Continuing at a school that has lost it's accreditation or is on an accreditation warning leads to a completely worthless degree and useless debt.

If Online is your only option, many traditional colleges have fully online degrees as well, you may need to change your major and start a new career path, but a degree from a reputable and established college will take you far. That would be better for you than to continue with a school that has lost it's reputation (thanks to predatory recruiting, lawsuits and the new owners DCEH) and continue to take on enormous debt.

If you are a new student, stop everything, withdraw BEFORE going to a class or logging in to an online class (or you will be charged the full amount of tuition), and please take a month or two to consider your options. NO ONE CAN VERIFY THAT Ai ONLINE WILL BE AROUND PAST DECEMBER 31. Starting a program of study at an institution that is closing it's doors will just create debt for you. No traditional school will accept your credits from AU, Ai or Ai Online if that school is closing.

STUDENTS YOU HAVE CHOICES
