Thread regarding Devon Energy Corp. layoffs

Finally made the decision

I've finally decided to leave Devon. I've been on the fence for a while now, but to be honest the complete lack of job security pushed me to finally bite the bullet and accept the offer that comes with somewhat less pay but also with much less stressing and anxiety.

To those of you also considering a similar move, go for it. The feeling of relief is immediate.

Nice you could make that decision, rather than have someone make it for you. Like 100s were chived, befor you made your magnanimous choice.

Obviously don’t work here, they rolled out new policy on payout of PTO, nothing beyond bankable hours.

I got a sweet payout for PTO when i left. I encourage everyone to maxout their PTO, roll over the maximum allowed, then use new pto for the next year. Sweet cushion for when management goes on a firing spree.

Has HR got around to sending out company wide emails, strong arming, ahem, I mean encouraging employees to take vacation and use their much accrued PTO?

I once worked for a corporation that was laying off employees on a regular basis, that did that.

They don't like having to pay out that big

lump sum for accrued PTO.

Thanks for the advice, Dave.

I know leaving on my own will save Devon tons of money.
