Thread regarding Monsanto Co. layoffs

Bayer: No mini-corporate office in St. Louis

Bayer has made it very clear that they do not want a mini-corporate office in St. Louis.

Bayer's CEO is under great pressure to save the promised $1.5 billions over 3 years. Most all of that savings is going to come from layoffs. If the average person makes about $100,000.00 with benefits that would mean they make $300,000.00 over 3 years.

If we take $1.5 billion and divide it by $300.000.00 it is easy to discern that 5,000 jobs will be eliminated. They will be eliminated quickly and Bayer will use dirty tricks to avoid paying severance.

They will offer a Monsanto employee a low paying job in an area they don't want to live. When the employee refuses the offer, they will simply say you quit and will not pay severance. They have a history of this behavior when they take over a company.

Re: "[Jobs] will be eliminated quickly and Bayer will use dirty tricks to avoid paying severance." Yes, there are signs of the dirty tricks already happening, especially to those nearing retirement. Anyone know a good lawyer for this type of thing?

It's not just in IT my friend. I work in Supply Chain (NA Row Crops). I have to relocate soon. I've seen folks in my situation have a phone call made on their behalf and BAM, they have a job in their new location (if a site is near). That's over me friend. Transfers and new hiring has been shut down. Glad I have a safety net...

It is time to polish up the resume and pick a new community to live in.

I work in IT and support HR and Finance. All people that I work for are curious and nervous what will happen next when layoff and all those people hunt for jobs in St. Louis which very limited opportunities.
