I worked at a higher volume store for a year as a sales supervisor. It was the most frustrating, chaotic year of my life.
Horrible scheduling for the associate and management. Unrealistically short staffing, and expecting 4 closing associates to recover a 130k s ft store after close.
No work life balance for supervisors. To take pto you have to schedule it during your regular weekend off rotation and trade with other supervisors so the store mgr doesn't have to deal with it.
All supervisors are lod for at least two hours a day is completely unproductive. You get nothing done. If you are going to use those horrible walkies buy head phones.
Ridiculous mass / group interviews that does not sort out great talent. Just those with type A personalities in a group of people. That is really a horrible worker with no real skills and an attitude.
an outdated training program that is completely useless and simply gives you untrained associates.
I can't believe that in 2018 jcp is still lo doing a manual schedule and an associates avalibity is conditional...we need to work or it's an ftr if you don't and you need to cover it. Yea I know you have school. So.
District level managers are rude, only speak to the store manager, will speak past you as if you are not standing their.
Ship to store is completely broken. Customer service can't tell you anything... orders cancel for no reason.. customers are notified before you even have time to bind the order. Orders are split and the other half may or may not ship.
Appliance is a mess. Delivery is a comedy of errors. Call jcp customer service, they place you on hold, to call GE customer service, who is placed on hold to call the delivery company!!!
Takes weeks to correct delivery issues. Weeks to issue returns. Items will go out of stock, order canceled without notice. They just don't show up. I would never order an appliance from JCP. Service after the sale is horrible.
Jcp is a horrible culture. Definitely not the jcp my mother worked for years ago.
