No matter how many years you have worked at Micron if you are not at retirement age everyone will need to get another job. Why wait? There are probably many working years still ahead of you. Why wait?

-1mnf You sound exactly like that famous "loafing" data lady in Folsom who has not worked in years yet until recently continued to collect a paycheck. she was finally booted out the door, so unless you are actually her, consider her fate before you brag about ducking accountability. it caught up with her finally and it could you too.
This individual is a troll (or a manager). The reason why people should leave is because during layoffs there are masses of people who will lose their jobs with the exact same training so the market will be flooded with the same talent. The people who should be looking are the ones who got the dates because there is no stopping them from being released.
Micron has the right to fire you or lay you off with seconds of notice, but you are expected to be a civil person and give them a decent notice. I think that is total BS! They want us to play by the rules but they continue to change them in the middle of a game.
I have seen so many promotions put on hold during downturns, then when the downturns are almost over and they turn back on the promotions they pull out more requirements.
Who in the hell wants to work for a back stabbing company like this? Very few of the employees are happy with this place and if your job is that easy I have no idea where you are working because what I am doing there are very high expectations and accountability.
Gravy train, little expectations, duck accountability = management!
Why leave? This place is a gravy train. Very little expectations and plenty of room to duck accountability. I choose to stay and draw a paycheck until they kick my fat, lazy posterior out or here. Which I really doubt happens. Once all you chicken littles panic and bail out, my position is solid gold.
