So within the last week McDermott Corporate HR has forced former CBI employees to work an extra day and frozen salaries for all. Add to that the longer daily commute from Woodlands to our new home, it's just another hour from my day. Too many of my coworkers have been walked out the door or else have been proactive and jumped ship before the torpedo hit.

Listen and learn to Prof Smarty "the Douche" McCubicle. (A) "According to conservation of work hour happiness, human capital are just as happy to work any schedule as long as the total hours are the same. So if company B decides to cut the standard work day by a half hour, human capital will okay with a cut out of all there vacation time. After all, it's just a "schedule change". And it's not like human capital "has to work Monday through Saturday now". (B) "Texting slang like "OMG" makes any laughable falsehood so convincing you might as well give up the debate". (C) "if not ranked high by Page Rank, can't be true. Wisdom of the crowd at work". (D) "OMG" is a give away that your a chick. (E) "New human capital that come from good jobs should be envied, feared, and ridiculed. To help them fit in faster." There will be a test on Saturday, but your working anyway right?
Okay so lets say your standard office hours change from 8-5 M-F to 9-430 M-Sa. 1 hour for lunch is included each day. No working from home. Would you say A, you are forced to work an extra day, or B, your work scheduled changed and you actually have to work 30 minutes less a week. Before you answer try to imagine what a nonretard would say. Go!
Thankful for a chance to turn things around? Like I f---ed up this company? McD cut a deal with the culprits and lined their pockets with tens of millions of $$. This isn't a second chance, this isn't TARP. I can work my a-- off here or I can work my a-- off somewhere else. It's a job, not a mission, not redemption. Are McD employees so pathetic, so beaten down, so under qualified that they think they deserve whatever they are given? Is this really the best youve had, the best you can do?
No, wrong. WRONG! Smarty McCubicle did some heavy duty Millenial quality research on Google this morning and he knows Cb&i's businesses and who your selling to. WAY better than any of y'all who been working there for years and years. So SHUT YOUR LYING MOUTHS, resign from your country clubs, and take your seat in the cube farm in Houstons cesspool. Idiot.
Yeah we get a lot of work from service companies. I think our biggest pipes customer is Fluor.
Really? No business? Get your head out of your a--.
Not too many customers for epc in the woodlands. Just XOM, XTO, APC, Repsol, CPCHEM, BH, maybe soon CVX. Some smaller players. Hope we move westchase, tyler, bloomfield to the beltway. Only makes sense.
I "did good work", I "do good work". But I don't work for the satisfaction of doing good work. I work for a paycheck and worklife balance. If your job was moved to the woodlands or clear lake you'd complain too. Other companies don't have flex days, that doesn't mean I don't care when I lose my flex days. Other companies pay less, that doesn't mean I don't care if my pay gets cut. Other companies are farther away, that doesn't mean I don't care when I lose 5 hours a week in traffic because this company picks the second worst location in the city after the galleria. If you are legacy MDR, you can't appreciate what step down this is. Whining on this site doesn't ever change anything for anybody. And you are right, I need to get the f--- out.
This kind of disrespect and disloyalty needs to be rooted out and punished. You should be fired.
Flexing was a nice perk; however, how many companies offer it? Grow up. Companies move all the time. Employees either move too or find something else, sorry this is how the real world works. Whining on here will not change your situation
“Forced to work an extra day” is a little misleading. Changed work schedules is more accurate...it’s not like you have to work Monday through Saturday now.
Clean your own office pig.
This is a test and a show of force by McDermott. The new/temporary changes will force out the yellow bellies and pencil necks. Keep the employees who really want to be there and want do good work.
