Thread regarding ADP layoffs

6/1 layoff wave

It should be interesting to see who says what about ADP after the people who are leaving today find out about this page. honestly, it's pretty crazy to see so many people being fired or forced out but I suppose this is all part of the fallout of keeping Bill Ackman from challenging the board again.

Management is just trying to pacify everyone at these town halls that everything is great and everything will be fine. This is because they need everyone working productively and making money for them. A nervous employee that is scared for their job isn't going to work as well as a self assured employee who thinks that their job is secure. Also, the employee that is scared for their job may leave ADP for a better job. That just wouldn't do for management. They need their employees working happily until they are laid off.

"I wonder why they would tell us on the town hall that they aren’t aware of any plans to lay off homeshored employees when we know that they are per Carlos himself... why the boldfaced lie and secrecy around homeshored people being let go etc???"

Seriously? And you think the key executives give a sh-- about you or your family? Wake the hell up! They don't honestly care about you, your family, any employee, or the company for that matter... They only care about themselves and how they can use anyone or anything for their benefit (only).

The ERP was offered to approximately 3500 employees and 70-72% (estimate) accepted it. The package was not offered to board members or 'key executives.'

Many of the individuals who have left ADP or will be leaving ADP are invaluable resources that will never come back and/or will never be able to assist the new hires who have little/no experience with the old systems that are still the backbone of the GUI interface that looks new to our clients. (Smoke and mirrors.)

ADP's competition will certainly benefit from these executive decisions.

ADP management lies without batting an eye. Lying to them is not difficult or unusual. They need their employees working, not worrying about the future. They will tell you anything to make sure that you are productively working. Then the axe falls and people are out of their jobs. But at least they weren't worried so much beforehand because of the lies management told them.

ADP has changed so much over the last few years. No longer feel like part of a family but just a number as upper mgmt is only looking at numbers now and nothing else. Top performers were layed off in March only because they were home shored. I was undecided about the Early Retirenent package at first then after more thought decided to accept. It’s a much better deal than taking the risk of getting layed off and only six months of severance and no benefits! Only a few co workers i know who were eligible didn’t take it. In my opinion they are taking a big risk but we all have to do what we think is right for our individual situations. I was given a 6/1 date would have liked to stay until October but ADP did not agree. I know a few folks who got October dates but requested June. Go figure! Best of luck to all those who accepted and those who didn’t I hope everything works out for you.

My Dept, roughly 170+ people are losing roughly 20% of our associates between now and October. Year end will certainly be a lot different and clients will see this when things aren't able to get done at lightning speed like they are used to.

Next wave is August 1, we have someone leaving then. I guess we will come in Monday and see whose emails return when we need someone since no one knows who left except the people they are closest to.

....there were slightly over 3000 eligible, they had hoped 35% would take it..however, Over 70% of those eligible took it. The first wave was June 1, next wave is Oct 5th and the very last if March 1.

ADP cannot survive on the backs that are left. The cuts have been too deep and too much knowledge has been lost. ADP management did not know how complex the work is. A fatal mistake.

It’s no longer about the associates. Hasn’t been go awhile. ADP will survive on the backs of those that are left. Wish I was eligible for the ERP I would have taken it.

Of the 40 plus people I know offered the retirement deal only 2 people didn't take it. It's my understanding the planned for about 30 percent of those offered the package to accept it. It's way higher! Many of these people whom are leaving did so because they felt they had to not because they wanted to. Everyone walks on eggshells. What happens now when all of these skilled programmers and technical folks leave? The platforms are antiqaunted at best. Nobody will be left to keep these systems maintained and running. The people left will get a crash course in training but no way can they replace all the years of experience. Get ready for long delays, slower completion and incompetent work. Stock prices may be rising but this is at the expense of the clients.

I have a comprehensive list for corp but it doesn't take into account the rest of the org. There were about 180 on it.

Where would they publish a list of 1000's of names and why?

I find it interesting that they haven't published who is retiring. Why all the secrets??

It's a heck of a price to pay. They underestimated the amount of folks who would take it. There's no support or knowledge left for the mainframes. The nextgen apps are not there. Maybe in four years they will be. Good luck to those staying.
