Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Oil Prices are up! Enbridge is still down.

When the Enbridge/Spectra merger was announced, the WTI price of crude was $51 or $52. Even with the big drop over the last week, it's now up to %66. That's about a 30% round-numbers increase.

When the Enbridge/Spectra merger was announced, then Enbridge share prices was around $42. Even with a recent climb, it's now around $31. That's a round-numbers 25% DECREASE.

When are we going to stop pretending like it's "the price of oil" that has crushed Enbridge, and call it what it is: horrendous mismanagement at nearly every level of the organization, a failed merger, ill-planned reactive spending, and crushing debt?

Lol Enbridge's stock price changes with interest rates?? Then why did our stock price plummet while interest rates were still low?? And why does overlord Al keep blaming the "pricing environment" for poor performance?

Must be comments here by classic Canadian lackeys who can't wrap their heads around the fact that there are other parts of the business besides EGD....

You know commodity prices has little to no direct impact on Enbridge’s revenue right?

Thanks!

To be more exact, Enbridge stock was up when interest rates were low because investors were looking for steady dividend stocks.

Interest rate hurts more Enbridge than other utilities because of its higher debt level.

Other issue is stock dilution to acquire Spectra.

MLPs rule also affect negatively Enbridge since Enbridge was benefiting heavily from it.

Will it recover? Most likely. But Enbridge needs to clean up the house because the stock start to take off.

oh god finally a sensible comment among this cesspool of whiners @Tofn49h-1cap

utilities are tied to interest rates as a proxy to interest rate.

Price of oil tanked in 2015 and yet Enbridge stock was at all time high. Enbridge goes down when interest rates go up.

Worked out great for Ebel. The rest of us were never even considered.

It's called biting off more than you can chew with respect to the Spectra merger. Both companies were fine before this ill conceived move. The rank and file has paid with massive layoffs with no end in sight. When will the execs pay? And how good will their golden parachute be if it happens?

Tune in next week as we continue the saga of "As the debt turns".
