I'm pretty sure Frontier will have to file chapter 11 before end of the year. Once the 5g starts in major city's this year 2018 and people start talking about how great it is . It will be over for them with all of that Old Technology. The Century Link Deal didn't go through because they didn't want to give Frontier what they paid Verizon for it.Get ready people it's about to get real ugly very soon. FTR. Should become a MVNO , Mobil Virtual Network Operator. VZ used landlines to build there wireless network. FTR Should turn this around and use profits made as a MVNO to build up there fiber network and pay down debt. Comcast, Charter cable, Altice, Centrelink and others are doing it now.
the fiber network is so small, it makes up less than 5% of the footprint. you think it can carry the entire company? keep dreaming.....
FTR overpaid for CTF (California, Texas, Florida) assets from VZ. They never recovered from the bungled integration and loss most customers to Charter Spectrum. Now it's for sale with no buyers.
They should be fine as long as they can maintain customer base on the fiber network. With no streaming caps, they should be able to adjust prices to extract maximum revenue from the cord cutters.
