Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

The beginning of the End

Lagging enrollment, cancelled mid quarter start, small summer start and changes

of who now answers to who. These are troubling signs of the new stranglehold

of DCEH and its tangled finances web. I look for schools under 300 to go on teach out

by the fall quarter. Any brick and mortar with high leasing agreements will the first to be axed.

The ILIA block will be first for sure. One cannot pay one and one half million in lease payments

when the retention rate is 175-195 students. Look for moderate to extreme cuts by june 24th.

Investment in local marketing is crucial in being successful with recruiting students. Marketing remotely does not work, this has got us nothing. The AI website is a joke. Compare it to any other design college. No local control. The images of our web page is not even our campus! With a class project students could do a better job with any CMS tool out there. Just give each school 20$ a month and let them do it them selfs I Guarantee students could do a better job. Let us try!

no investment as promised, no TV or web promotions, very little social media unless the faculty post things. few starting students and the great ones graduating. teach out Illustration, Animation.... Game Art, Industrial Design and VFX looking like they are next. Fashion, Graphic Design, Culinary and Video/Film only strong programs at our campus if you can say 700 students is strong. DCEH seems lost in what to do or maybe this is the plan, let the schools peter out, close them, drop remaining faculty. start over.

Any other campuses besides in trouble other than Chicago, Detroit, Schaumburg and Pittsburgh? How about Inland Empire?

Mi is low at around 265. Which will include a projected summer start of 60-70.

High building leases and low CSR will certainly yield major changes.

South is one mile west of Ai Novi and has around 450-500 enrolled.

Cannot combine as Novi has 3 million dollar kitchens.

Very difficult to ascertain any positives after June 21st.

What campuses have 300 students or less? NCES reports numbers that are 2-3 years old.
