Thread regarding Rent-A-Center Inc. layoffs

They really need to just liquidate the company

According to the employees I’ve seen kept at local RTO stores, the next company will do much worse. Who would want to buy a ‘lemon’ of a company like this. It’s only a lemon because of the careless employees they have. The company is amazing, but put in the hands of destruction it will continually fail! No matter who owns it.

Managers too afraid to problem solve with customers (what are they paid for?), employees fighting, sleeping while clocked in, managers not greeting customers as they walk in (unless another careless member of upper management is around), favoritism, stealing, ill-placed employees, managers setting up merchandise on the floor without checking it for bedbugs and find out the day of delivery it HAS bedbugs (this actually happened), the list goes on and none of it is beneficial.

Liquidate, liqudate, liquidate!!!

As a manager at my store, I work my butt off to be able to best serve my customers. My store is growing leaps and bounds right now due to that store-customer relationship and the fact that my 2 competitors in town do not care about the customer, nor do they have an ounce of integrity in their bones. I truly feel sorry for my customers should I be edged out of my position and merged with another RTO. I also feel awful for my employees who look to me for guidance and know that I do everything in my power to maintain profit for our store while being a servant to my customers. Without them, I would not have had a job to worry about losing.

I worked at the c-ap company for nearly 10 years. I had almost 15 managers and all but 2 were thieves , lazy, played favorites and harassed employees. That company is horrible and runs with trash inside its stores. Close the doors.

The company has significant opportunities to make good money. But they need to focus on helping the field, the stores, improve better ways, rather than slashing corporate. All the changes we made don't help when we don't have key players at the FSC that understood our business. I hope we don't get bought out, because I would like to see us have the greatest turnaround in the history of retail.

I think you should only be speaking for yourself. No one is sleeping at my store. My staff is not stealing a thin dime. We all work our asses off to trying to fight this. We all have children to feed. Please speak for the bad manager you clearly had not an entire company.

We really do not know the criteria why a company can file liquidation. This entails a lot of proceedings we do not have an idea about. Sure, we can voice out our opinion, there's nothing wrong with it. At this point, we really need to sit down and think of just two things - to go or to stay. Whatever is our decision and whatever the result would be - we only have ourselves to blame. Rent-A-Center is obviously not the best company but the decision to leave or stay remains ours.
