A lot of work from Vancouver and Boise is being moved to India, affecting contractors. Not sure about HP positions, but I would suspect some are being off-shored as well....

Work moving from Boise to anywhere else is a moot point. The current seven year lease with the State of Idaho will not be renewed. HP Boise will close up no later than 2024.
Thank god they aren't offshoring the Sawtooth Wilderness just northeast Boise!
@jbwk - search greivences h/p PCs. Loads and loads of info relating to ur concerns. Best/shore/out/sourced/warinty/issues/etc. u r not alone. Components/chips/defects/support/non-support/extended/warrantees/etc. also/printers/best/least/best. Educate ones-self. You might just be supprised.

This not a good thing.
After I purchased my HP ENVY last year, I had an issue with restarting taking a very long time. I went to HPQ Support page and a India Support wanted to have access to my computer. I really do not want some to access my computer but I let them since it was from HP Support. Well, they did a bunch of changes and NEVER TOLD ME what they did -- my Wifi stopped working and also my bluetooth, etc.
They also did a trick TREE SCAN that I saw before when SCAMMERS tried that on my work computer saying they were from HP IT Support. At the end of the scan it said: "SSL CRASHED COMPUTER COMPROMISED ….NETWORK NOT SECURE ..SECURITY REQUIRED …. COMPUTER AT LEVEL : CRITICAL!!!" But I do not know what else they entered in the TREE COMMAND LINE to get that message.
NOTE: I did not have any virus, because I did a full scan with Norton Security + Windows Defender and Malewarebytes software for all three. No virus - so they lied to me so I can contact HP JUMPSTART and pay for them to remove my virus which I have none. I believe is also a trick to gain access to your computer.
==> THIS IS A TRICK TO GET YOU TO PAY HPQ FOR VIRUS REMOVAL and to contact HP JUMPSTART!!! But when I was scammed earlier on my work computer they told me I have to purchase a virus removal software. ☹
They all work for HPQ and I believe HPQ is not ethical because they never returned my calls to inquire about the scam! ☹

Yup. Guad is another site that will continue to grow.
Sadly, they can hire 6 resources in India for the cost of 1 US resource. These resources in India rarely stay in a position for any length of time - constant turn over and poor quality. Folks in India supporting the US are working in the middle of the night - not ideal, so they look to move to another team that supports Asia or Europe that aligns better with their time zone.
Cut costs - increase profit. Really short sighted business model.
