Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Premium Membership Problem

Anyone else tired of slinging these fake memberships we have? Our customers hate it and don’t take well to the membership program. The pricing is sh-- and is always price matched by mason. I give us another year or 2 before all of our customers hate us. No one wants to pay such a high fee to have an account open with staples. If we do win an account, .com is usually half our price.

I feel like I’m going absolutely no where and so is this program.

With this new comp plan, how does anyone expect to be paid? Time to start polishing up that resume

Sycamore/Staples wants customers to follow the blue light of KMart. This is hilarious! You give us 299.00 and we promise to stick it to ya where the sun does not shine. What fools. Sycamore/Staples, you ARE NOT Amazon.... nor will you ever be.

The goal is to fully automate many processes and continue as a lean company. The remaining associates are assisting in a process that may ultimately cost them their jobs in the future. If by "get with the program or get out," you mean help the company automate your position so they can lay you off, you shouldn't expect anyone to take you seriously.

There are better alternatives to the way Sycamore is doing business, which only shows that Sycamore is operating in crisis mode. Judging by your posts, however, you aren't walking in the shoes of the people who use this forum to post their concerns.

Reading these posts I see why Staples needs to layoff more people with losing attitudes. Either get with the program or get out.

It's not about one's ability to sell, it's about what is being sold.

The point of the original post is that the products and services being sold have no real value. Imagine you're a decision maker at your organization and a B2B pitches the $299 per year membership that will raise the price of the items you buy.

Are you going to say "yes" to paying more... plus $299 annually?

No, you won't.

The only decision makers that say yes are either being lied to... or simply not doing the math.

If you're an honest salesperson, you'll be at the bottom of the sales rank. Unless this changes, businesses will figure out the scam and go elsewhere.

Actually, they already have, which is why Staples is in crisis mode today.

Salespeople who lack the skills to sell the products and services they are asked to sell...get better at selling or get out. You are a dime a dozen.

hint: your subcontinent overlords hate you more now than your soon to-be-ex customers ever will.
